Vaccinations
Vaccinations are among the most effective and important medical measures and are therefore an integral part of preventive healthcare.
In our gynaecological practice, we offer you all the vaccinations recommended by the STIKO (Standing Committee on Vaccination) and our specialist societies. We will advise you in detail about the individual vaccines and try to alleviate your fears and concerns.
Detailed notes
We focus in particular on HPV vaccination (for children aged 9 and over), on checking and completing the vaccination status of our patients who wish to have children (VZV and MMR vaccination) and on vaccinating our pregnant women (influenza from the 2nd trimester, pertussis at the start of the 3rd trimester).
The aim of HPV (human papillomavirus) vaccination is to reduce HPV-associated tumours. In addition to genital warts, persistent HPV infections can lead to cell changes on the cervix, vagina and vulva, penis, anus and throat. In the worst case scenario, these cell changes can lead to cancer. Both women and men are affected. The timing of the vaccination is crucial for reliable protection. Ideally, the vaccination series should be completed before any sexual contact.
We also offer all other vaccinations recommended by the STIKO at our practice. These include the annual influenza vaccination (flu), the herpes zoster vaccination (shingles), the Covid-19 vaccination (corona) and the Tdap vaccination (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis).
We do not carry out travel vaccinations in our practice.
